I Shaved My Head When Robert Stanfield Died

Edmonton is too classy to respond with equal vulgarity and sneering condesension to cheap potshots:

Like the one Dylan lobbed from the capital of the 51st state. Calgary is a city with a grand inferiority complex. It has built them an impressive hiway system that mirrors Atlanta's. It has given them the economic foresight of the Hon. Bill Vanderzalm, and the civic mindedness of Ayn Rand. Sure Dylan, we like having a big mall, but that wasn't a city initiative. That was an individual initiative, like the one that Bill Hunter, who founded the WHA had. However, as a city we don't collectively approve of hooliganism:

"bluemile.ca will not post pictures of broken property,
but we will submit your face if we catch you doing it"

Edmontonians resent Calgary, true, but because their politicians pauperise what should be their partner, not thier helot and pool of northern labour. Whereas Calgary seems to resent Edmonton... apparently because we have the Legislature. Well from the actions of the provincial government led by a Calgarian, it is curious that what a people covet, they should be so loath to make use of.

Please God let them have another boom. It's fun to watch them piss it away.

Allllllright.

"...capital of the 51st state" I have to had it to you, that's hilarious. I also like the use of the word "lobbed" and "pauperise".

My post was generally directed to two friends of mine who are beligerant Oilers fans that once claimed that Calgary was "uncivilized" because a three drunk idiots rushed two police officers after game 5 against the Ducks.

The only thing that keeps me happy about the Leg. being in Edmonton, is the fact that a Calgarian is running the show. :) Kidding!

The leg. being in Edmonton is secondary to the University of Alberta being in Edmonton (which is where it is because of a technicality and a slick Liberal premier from Ontario turned Redmontonian).

Lastly, the city slogan itself reflects an arrogance that no Calgarian can touch: "City of Champions" give me a break!
